Originates from the Huila region in southwestern Colombia, where coffee plantations are located at an altitude of 1,200-1,800 m above sea level. Thanks to the fertile volcanic soil and mild climate, the region gives the coffee exceptional quality. According to the Colombian Federation of Coffee Producers (as of October 31, 2023), Huila produces 2,666,185 bags of Excelso, representing 18.13% of national production.
